Orac


Orac, a publishing house now consisting of two companies: 1) Orac-Zeitschriftenverlag Ges. m. b. H., an outgrowth of the publishing company specialising in tax law and other legal publications founded in 1946 by A. Orac, which became independent in 1988; market leader for special magazines in the field of leisure, hobbies, etc.; from 1990 and since 1997 wholly-owned majority-owned by Zeitschriften Verlagsbeteiligungs-AG. 2) Verlag Orac GmbH & Co KG, one of Austria´s leading publishers for tax law and economic law, business accounting, and business management; owned by Reed Elsevier Legal Division since 1999 ( until then majority-owned by N. Orac); publishes specialist literature and journals as well as electronic specialised publications. - Since 1991, the Orac non-fiction publishing company has belonged to the Kremayr & Scheriau publishing company.
