Vienna, Sept. 26, 1924, politician and social philosopher, studied law. 1901-1918 Conservative Democratic delegate to the Reichsrat, 1918-1919 member of the Provisional National Assembly, 1919 co-founder of the Austrian Democratic Party. O. issued the original draft and the proceedings of the debate on the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB, 2 parts, 1887/1888) and contributed to the reform of the penal code ("Lex Ofner").
