Oberstufenrealgymnasium, ORGOberstufenrealgymnasium, ORG, Austrian school type established in 1962 under the name of "Musisch-pädagogisches Realgymnasium". Introduced as a special type of secondary school consisting of grades 9 to 13, it was intended to replace teacher training institutions and to serve as a preparatory school for attending the Pädagogische Akademie and for professions in the field of social work. Since 1969 only four-year duration of study; since 1975 integration into the regular school system under the name of "Oberstufenrealgymnasium", enabling students from "Hauptschule" schools to directly take school-leaving examinations for university entrance qualification Reifeprüfung. In 1993, 26 % of all school leavers from selective secondary (Gymnasium types) graduated at an Oberstufenrealgymnasium.
