Oberösterreichische Kalkalpen

Upper Austrian Limestone Alps, part of the Northern Limestone Alps in Upper Austria; merge from the Salzburg Limestone Alps into the Limestone Alps of Styria and Lower Austria without any visible border. The northern part of the high plateau of the Dachstein Massif mountain (alt. 2,995 m) and of the Totes Gebirge Mountains (Großer Priel mountain, alt. 2,515 m) are on Upper Austrian territory, the greater part of the Salzkammergut mountains with the striking Höllengebirge Mountains and the Traunstein Mountain, Warscheneck mountain (alt. 2,386 m) and Sengsengebirge Mountains (Hohe Nock mountain, alt. 1,963 m), all of which clearly feature the characteristics of high alpine limestone formations. The densely forested regions along both slopes of the middle Enns Valley around Weyer (Großer Alpkogel mountain, alt. 1,512 m) and Ternberg (Schoberstein mountain, alt. 1,270 m) and the Reichraming Hintergebirge mountains are marked by limestone formations of the Alpine Forelands.
