Oberbank AGOberbank AG, (until 1998 known as Oberbank, Bank für Oberösterreich und Salzburg AG). Established in 1869 as a public limited company under the name of "Bank für Oberösterreich und Salzburg" (Bank for Upper Austria and Salzburg) with headquarters in Linz. The Oberbank played an important role in infrastructure development, industrialisation and reconstruction in the region. - Before 1955 the Oberbank had been a regional commercial bank (listed on the Stock Exchange) focusing on industrial financing. It later diversified into other operations to become a full-service bank. Branches: 1955: 17 in Upper Austria and the province of Salzburg; 1998: 94 (since 1985 in St. Pölten, since 1988 in Vienna, since 1990 in Munich, 1998 Eisenstadt), thus one of Austria´s largest regional banks, with a balance sheet total of 101 billion ATS and 1,535 employees (1998). Since 1997 cooperation with the Bank für Tirol und Vorarlberg AG and the Bank für Kärnten und Steiermark AG has been intensified. References to other albums:
