Noricum-Skandal Noriker, Pferderassen

Noriker, Stamm

Norici Tribe, thought to be Celtic or to have had predominantly Celtic characteristics, in the area of southern Austria mentioned, several times by classical authors, perhaps originated from the merging of various tribes. Their centre was supposedly the settlement on the Magdalensberg mountain. The first king of the Regnum Noricum known by name was Cincibilus, who concluded a treaty of friendship with the Romans in 170 B. C. The Norican King Voccio married his sister to the Germanic Prince Ariovistus and supplied Caesar with 300 horses. Noricum.
