From 1945 worked as a journalist for the UP press agency and for the "Wiener Illustrierte" magazine. 1949 changed over to the "Weltpresse" and the "Welt am Montag". For the latter he worked as sports editor and editor-in-chief until 1963. Since 1964 has worked for the daily paper "Neue Kronen Zeitung", 1965-2001 columnist under the pseudonym of Staberl.
