Parma (Italy), Feb. 22, 1829, officer (field marshal lieutenant). In 1809 general adjutant in the service of Archduke Ferdinand Karl d'Este, in 1813 commander of a division near Leipzig; fought against King Murat of Naples in Italy in 1815. From 1814 intimate friend and from 1821 husband of Marie Louise, wife and later widow of Napoleon ;, father of her child Wilhelm Albrecht Prince of Montenuovo. Literature: ADB.
