Neiner, Johann V. eigentlich J. V. Neuner, Pseudoym: NicodemusNeiner, Johann V. (real name: J. V. Neuner, pseudonym: Nicodemus), b. Vienna, June 29, 1679, d. probably not in Vienna, after 1748, popular satirist. His writings are valuable sources for the local history of Vienna, successor of Abraham a Sancta Clara, who published some of N.´s writings as his own. N. is regarded as a predecessor of J. Perinet. Works (mostly publ. anonymously): Vienne Demasquée, 1705; Curioser Narrenkalender, 1707ff.; Hanswurstische Reisebeschreibungen, 1717-1719; Neu ausgelegter Curioser Tändl-Marckt der jetzigen Welt, 1734 (edition of 1748 or 1749, 2 parts.).
