Munggenast, FranzMunggenast, Franz, b. St. Pölten (Lower Austria), Jan. 23, 1724, d. St. Pölten, May 11, 1748, master builder, son of Josef Munggenast, brother of Matthias Munggenast. After his sudden death in 1726 his brother Matthias M. took over the family firm. Works: Lower Austria: Collegiate church in Herzogenburg, from 1743; (Türkenbründl fountain) in Sonntagberg; Mount calvary in St. Pölten, 1746; garden pavilion at the monastery of Melk, 1746-1748; plans for a church in Maria Langegg (not built).
