Graz (Styria), July 16, 1920, music manager. 1947-1964 secretary-general of the music association of Styria and of the Graz Summer Festival, 1961 of the Vienna State Opera; 1963-1973 manager of the Vienna Volksoper; 1972-1982 secretary-general of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna; 1983-1985 president of the Salzburg Festival.
