Mixa, Franz, b. Vienna, June 3, 1902 Wien, d. Munich, Germany, Jan. 16, 1994, composer. From 1929 Director of Music in Reykjavík, Iceland, from 1938 in Graz, 1952-57 head of the Styrian Provincial Conservatory, then freelance composer in Munich.


Works: Operas: Eyvind und sein Weib, 1937/38; Der Traum ein Leben, 1963. - Symphonies; orchestral pieces (Isländische Rhapsodie, 1950); lieder (Sechs Lieder im Volkston, 1980).
