Misson, Josef


Misson, Josef, b. Mühlbach am Manhartsberg (Lower Austria), March 14, 1803, d. Vienna, June 28, 1875, Lower Austrian dialect poet. 1834 Piarist priest, from 1825 teacher at grammar schools and 1854-1857 librarian in Krems, Vienna and Horn. His fragmentary epic poem "Da Naz, a niederösterreichischer Bauernbui, geht in d´Fremd" (8 cantos, 1850; after 1875 several editions) gives an impression of the village life at the time.
