Prostějov, Czech Republic (then Proßnitz), Jan. 4, 1813, d. Vienna, Nov. 16, 1848 (executed), officer and writer. During the Vienna Oktoberrevolution 1848 commander of the national guard. After futile attempts at mediation between radical and conservative powers he surrendered on Oct. 30 to Field Marshal A. Windisch-Graetz.
