Came to Vienna in 1924, actor and compère. 1932-1935 one of the leading initiators of Vienna cabaret (among others in "Literatur am Naschmarkt" Kabarett); 1945-1947 in "Lieber Augustin" (1946/47 manager). Together with G. Bronner, M. Kehlmann, K. Nachmann, H. Qualtinger, P. Wehle wrote numerous programmes for cabarets and the "Travnicek" dialogues; scriptwriter, radio and TV productions. Works: Eisrevue, 1959; Jenseits von Gut und Krankenkasse, 1967; Der Opernnarr, 1973. - With H.
