Melk, River, Lower Austria, southern Danube tributary, source near Statzberg Hill (948 m), flows through the Alpine Fore-Land into the Danube at Melk (213 m); average flow 3 m3/sec. (Matzleinsdorf measuring point); the most important tributary is the Mank.
