Vienna, June 24, 1798, Archduchess of Austria, 5th and favourite child of Maria Theresia. 1766 married Duke Albert Kasimir von Sachsen-Teschen, who had a mausoleum built for her by A. Canova in the Augustinerkirche church, Vienna. 1780 M. C. was made Governor-General of the Austrian Netherlands together with her husband, had to flee in 1789, returned there in 1791/92.
