Ludwig, PaulaLudwig, Paula, b. Altenstadt (Vorarlberg), Jan. 5, 1900, d. Darmstadt (Germany), Jan. 27, 1974, poet, painter and actress. Spent her youth in Germany, knew E. Lasker-Schüler and S. George in Berlin, close friendship with Y. Goll, which inspired her to write the poetry cycle "Dem dunklen Gott", and "Ein Jahresgedicht der Liebe" (1932). Emigrated to Tyrol in 1933, 1938 to France and 1941 to South America. L. returned 1953 to Austria and moved to Germany in 1956. Was awarded the Georg Trakl Prize in 1962. Editions: P. L.
