From 1957 to 1959 in the Danish steel industry, 1960 to 1967 in Greece, from 1974 worked for the US conglomerate "General Refractories" in Austria. In 1987 established the Radex Heraklith Industriebeteiligungs AG (RHI AG) by management buy-out, concentration and rationalisation measures providing a new basis for the production of refractory materials for the steel industry; managing director of the company.
