LendLend, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of Zell am See, alt. 663 m, pop. 1,633, area 29.38 km2, situated where the Gastein valley opens into the Salzach valley. - Gigerach road junction with reinforced concrete bridge (1976-1979) across the gorge of the Gastein Ache stream; aluminium industry (Salzburger Aluminium AG) with 2 electric power stations (Kitzlochklamm and Klammsteinwerk). - 1553-1862 ore smeltery (gold, silver), 1898/1899 founding of the first aluminium factory in Austria; parish church (1674, restored in 1760), high altar and interior (1760), ceiling frescoes (1907); palace building, former mining authority of the province of Salzburg, (built around 1600, since 1980 office of the municipal council).
