Legion, ÖsterreichischeLegion, Österreichische, (Austrian Legion), para-military group of Austrian National-Socialists in Germany from 1933 onwards; 3,500 members in August 1933, 9,000 members after the July Putsch in 1934, about 3,000 members in 1938; the Austrian authorities considered them a threat.
