Self-taught, debut 1925 at the Linz Landestheater. Individual contracts in Hamburg, Brno and Munich, from 1932 employed at the Vienna Volkstheater. After World War II played over 50 parts at the Theater in der Josefstadt (sole honorary member), numerous film parts. On stage and screen played mostly typical Viennese characters.
