Komensky-VereinKomensky-Verein (Komensky Society): founded in 1872 with the aim of establishing and preserving Czech schools in Vienna. From 1883 the society operated several schools of different kinds for the Czech minority in Vienna. These schools reached their peak during the First Republic (1918-1938). Currently the Komensky Society runs only one bilingual primary and secondary school and a Oberstufenrealgymnasium upper secondary school (from the 2000/01 school year also offering classes for first grade students).
