Koblach

Koblach, Vorarlberg, municipality in the district of Feldkirch, alt. 456 m, pop. 3,171, area 10.24 km², situated east of River Rhine, town centre south of the Kummerberg (668m).- Settlement from the Late Neolithic and the Early Bronze Age, Neuburg Castle (12^th /13^th century, served as a refuge for the local population), first documented mention 1363 (castle and surrounding estates sold to the Habsburg family), in ruins since 1769, restored after 1985. Parish church (1905-1907) with frescoes(1965). Birkach manor house (before 1616).
