Kematen an der Krems


Kematen an der Krems, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Linz Land, alt. 327 m, pop.1,883, area 21.40 km2, situated in the Kremstal Valley, near the town of Linz, Steyr and Wels. - Kematen manufactures doors, has a golf course, restaurants and guest houses and a garage. - Gothic 15th  century staggered church with aisles and nave of different height (documented mention in 1179) and fortified tower, fine Baroque interior with works by J. G. Schwanthaler; Weyer Castle (documented mention in 1299), moated castle (16th century), enlarged in the 19th  century.
