Kaufmann, DieterKaufmann, Dieter, b. Vienna, April 22, 1941, composer, nephew of Armin Kaufmann. 1967-1970 studied in Paris, where he was influenced by musique concrète and the student revolution. From 1970 lecturer on electroacoustic music at the Musikhochschule (now University of Music and Performing Arts) in Vienna; since 1990 professor of composition and electroacoustics at this institution. 1983-1990 head of the composition class at the Carinthian provincial conservatory. Together with the actress Gunda König founded the K & K experimental studio in 1975. Numerous awards. Works: Evocation, 1968 (oratorio based on texts by I. Bachmann); Volksoper, 1978 ((text by G. Jonke); Für Clara. Ein romantisches Klavierkonzert, 1985 (piano concerto); Die Reise ins Paradies, 1985 (vocal theatre, after texts by R.
