Karnitschnigg, Maximilian von


Karnitschnigg, Maximilian von, b. Graz (Styria), Dec. 17, 1872, d. Graz (Styria), May 10, 1940, officer and amateur photographer. In World War I soldier at the Russian front, afterwards civil servant in the province of Styria. In 1924 participated in the reorganisation of the association of artistic photography of Graz and became from 1927 one of the most distinguished photographic journalists in Austria, concentrating on pictures of landscapes and architecture in high-grade prints.
