Kara Mustafa Pasha, b. around 1635/36, d. Belgrade (Yugoslavia), Dec. 25, 1683, Ottoman grand vizier from 1676-1683, who led the campaign against Austria in 1683 (Turkish Wars) and the second siege of Vienna (Turkish Sieges of Vienna). was executed because of his defeat. His skull is kept at the Historic Museum of the City of Vienna (Historisches Museum der Stadt Wien).
