Jugend am Werk

Jugend am Werk, an organisation founded in 1945, offers vocational training for Vienna´s youth and, since 1957, in keeping with the Vienna disabled persons law, has been involved in the care of persons with mental or multiple disabilities after they leave school. The organisation has workshops where a total of about 370 young people can be trained in 15 trades, and occupational therapy centres for about 1,200 disabled persons. About 400 disabled persons are cared for in residence halls, shared apartments, and sheltered housing areas. There is also a Jugend am Werk organisation in the province of Styria.
