Joglland


Joglland (Joggelland, Jakelland), heavily forested low mountain range area of eastern Styria (Rabenwaldkogel mountain, alt.1,281 m; Masenberg mountain, alt.1,262 m) part of the Central Alps (gneiss) where they meet the Styrian Basin in the south, named after the main town St. Jakob (Jakob is "Jakl" oder "Joggl" in the vernacular). Drained by the rivers Feistritz and Lafnitz, purely agrarian region with minimal traffic and transport infrastructure. Vorau Abbey and Festenburg Abbey. Railroad connection Gleisdorf- Weiz- Birkfeld.
