JedenspeigenJedenspeigen, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Gänserndorf, alt. 158 m, pop. 1,115, area 23.22 km2, farming and wine-growing town on the River March/Morava, in the eastern Weinviertel region, on the border to Slovakia. Settled since the Neolithic Period, first documented mention in 1113, scene of the Battle of Dürnkrut and Jedenspeigen on August 26, 1278, at which Rudolf von Habsburg defeated Přemysl Otakar. Parish church with nave (12th century, chancel around 1360), renovated in Baroque style around 1697, renovated in neo-Gothic style by F. von Schmidt in 1880-1886; early Baroque castle (first documented mention in 1295, built in the late 16th century).
