Jadot de Ville-Issey, Jean NicolasJadot de Ville Issey, Jean Nicolas, b. Lunéville (France), Jan. 22, 1710, d. Ville-Issey (France), June 1, 1761, court architect of Duke Franz Stephan of Lorraine, later Emperor Franz I. From 1750 architect in ordinary to the court of Vienna. In 1753 was succeeded by N. Pacassi, left Vienna and went to Brussels. His buildings in Vienna represented a new style which was influenced by French architecture and served as a basis for future generations of architects. Works: Plans for the extension of the Vienna Hofburg (in the collection of copper engravings of the National Library, "Botschafterstiege"); assembly hall of the Old University (today Akademie der Wissenschaften, 1753-1755); Maria Theresia vault in the Kapuzinerkirche (1754); Kammergarten and Kronprinzengarten in the park of Schönbrunn.
