Inzersdorf


Inzersdorf, part of Vienna's 23rd district, until 1938 independent municipality, southern suburb of Vienna, situated on Liesing stream and at the southern foot of Wienerberg hill (195 m). First documented mention of the place name around 1120-1125 ("Ymizinisdorf" or "Imicinesdorf", derived from the proper name "Imizi"). Site of brick plants which played an important economic role in the past (Inzersdorf Marl).
