Hörbiger, Attila, b. Budapest (Hungary), April 21, 1896, d. Vienna, April 27, 1987, Kammerschauspieler, son of Hanns Hörbiger, brother of Paul Hörbiger, from 1935 husband of Paula Wessely, father of Elisabeth Orth, Christiane Hörbiger und Maresa Hörbiger; 1919 début as an actor, after performances at provincial theatres worked at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna 1928-1950; great successes in Berlin and as guest actor at the Vienna Volkstheater; 1950-1975 member of the Burgtheater company. 1935-1938 and 1947-1950 the part of "Jedermann" at the Salzburg Festival. 1985 gave his last performance as Winter in F. Raimund´s "Der Diamant des Geisterkönigs". Also film and television work. Awards: 1959 Kainz Medal, 1966 Grillparzer Ring, 1971 honorary member of the Burgtheater company, 1980 Nestroy Ring, 1985 Raimund Ring.
