Hoffmann, GüntherHoffmann, Günther, b. Vienna, Oct. 24, 1888, d. Laßnitzhöhe, Styria, Aug. 1, 1978, civil servant and bank manager. From 1922 in the Ministry of Finance, 1932-36 Director of Finance of the Postal Savings Bank Office, 1936-38 Vice-Governor; forced into retirement by the National Socialists in 1938. As Vice-Governor (1945-48) and Governor (1948-53) of the Postal Savings Bank, instrumental in the Bank's reconstruction after World War II.
