Herz von Rodenau, Johann Jakob, b. Lvív, Ukraine (then Lemberg), March 20, 1809, d. Vienna, Dec. 9, 1873, post expert, played a major role in the introduction of postage stamps in Austria (1850 first stamps were produced according to his drafts). 1868-1873 general director of the railways.
