Hering, Loy


Hering, Loy, b. Kaufbeuren (Germany), around 1484/85, d. Eichstätt (Germany), June 1, 1564, German Renaissance sculptor, created a number of major works for Vienna: epitaph for Bishop Georg von Slatkonia (before 1519, St. Stephen's Cathedral) and for Jobst Truchseß von Wetzhausen (1524, Teutonic Church). The memorial gravestone for Count Niklas Salm (after 1530, originally in Dorothean Church, since 1879 in Votiv Church) is attributed to him.
