Heiller, Anton


Heiller, Anton, b. Vienna, Sept. 15, 1923, d. Vienna, March 25, 1979, composer and organist. From 1945 professor in Vienna. Composed almost exclusively church and organ music, in which he also included elements of modern music (e.g. twelve-tone music). Awarded the Grand Austrian State Prize in 1969, won many prizes at organ competitions both in Austria and abroad.


Works: masses, requiem, psalms, chorale arrangements, organ music, motets, cantatas.
