Hammer, WilhelmHammer, Wilhelm, b. Feldkirch (Vorarlberg), Nov. 13, 1875, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Dec. 26, 1942, geologist. Member of the Imperial Institute of Geology for 35 years, director from 1923; his experience as an alpinist made him particularly qualified to head the geological exploration of Tyrol.
