Hallenkirche


Hall Church, church with several naves of equal height covered by a single roof. Hall churches were built in the Gothic period from the 14th century on, also neo-Gothic hall churches from the 19th  century. Examples in Austria are: Eisenstadt Cathedral, Eberndorf parish church (Carinthia), Grein parish church (Upper Austria), Scheibbs parish church (Lower Austria), Maria Alm parish church (Salzburg), St. Lambrecht collegiate church (Styria), St. Nikolaus in Hall parish church (Tirol), Lustenau-Kirchdorf parish church (Vorarlberg), the Minorite church in Vienna.
