Haen, Anton de


Haen, Anton de, b. Leyden (Netherlands), Dec. 8, 1704, d. Vienna, Sept. 5, 1776, physician. One of the co-founders of the Vienna School of Medicine. Summoned to Vienna by G. van Swieten in 1754; head of the newly founded medical clinic. First to teach the students at the bedside of patients.
