Grünbach am SchneebergGrünbach am Schneeberg, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Neunkirchen, alt. 557 m, pop. 1,852, area 7.37 km2, popular destination for day trips (summer) and winter sports resort at the southern foot of the Hohe Wand mountain. - Formerly largest mineral coal mine in Austria (in use between 1827 and 1965), small private mining museum, Hohe Wand nature preserve with observation tower; production of air-conditioning plants, mainly commuter town (particularly commuters to Traiskirchen (Semperit tyre factory) and Ternitz). - Parish church with late Gothic choir and stellar vaults, Baroque alterations in1744.
