Grossberg, MimiGrossberg, Mimi, b. Vienna, April 23, 1905, d. New York (USA), June 2, 1997, author. Studied psychology and English literature; until 1938 self-employed milliner. Emigrated to the USA in 1938. In addition to her own literary writings, she produced a monograph on literary emigration, several anthologies and 2 exhibition catalogues on Austrian authors in America, and other works. Central figure among the group of authors who were forced to leave Austria under the Nazi regime and emigrated to the USA. Publications: Metamorphosis, 1948; Versäume, verträume ..., 1957; Österreichische Autoren in Amerika, 1970 (with V. Suchy); The Road to America, 1986.
