Grohmann, PaulGrohmann, Paul, b. Vienna, June 12, 1838, d. Vienna, July 29, 1908, alpine explorer, mountaineer. First ascent of numerous peaks in the Gailtal Alps, the Karnisch Alps and the Zillertal Alps as well as in the Dolomites, also first to climb numerous mountains; the Grohmann peak in the Langkofel mountain group is named after him; co-founder of the Austrian Alpine Association in 1862.
