Grazer Becken


Graz Basin, situated on the eastern margin of the Central Alps, where the River Mur/Mura emerges from the mountains; surrounds the city of Graz; the western boundary is marked by the Plabutsch (763 m) and Buchkogel mountains (657 m), the northern boundary by the Platte mountain (651 m) and the eastern boundary by the hills around the Laßnitzhöhe mountain (543 m). Terraced area stretching out to both sides of the River Mur. Geologically, the entire Styrian Basin is referred to as Graz Basin
