Grassi, Anton Matthias, b. Vienna, June 26, 1755, d. Vienna, Dec. 31, 1807, sculptor, probably student of F. X. Messerschmidt, worked on the statues in the park of Schönbrunn Palace under W. Beyer, from 1778 modeller for the Vienna porcelain factory (Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur); his style was marked by strict classicism.
