Gold, KätheGold, Käthe, b. Vienna, Feb. 11, 1907, d. Vienna, Oct. 11, 1997, actress, Kammerschauspielerin. Began at age 4 with walk-on parts at the Court Opera and at the Burgtheater in Vienna, in 1926 debut at the Stadttheater Bern, then engagements in Mönchengladbach, Breslau, Munich, at the Vienna Akademietheater and at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna (1932-1935), at the Prussian State Theatre in Berlin (under G. Gründgens) and at the Zurich Schauspielhaus; from 1947 member of the Vienna Burgtheater company. Guest performances at the Salzburg and Bregenz Festivals, among others; 1985 farewell performance. Roles in films, and on the television and radio; awarded the Kainz Medal in 1965. Literature: E. Wurm, K. G., 1951.
