Goethe, HermannGoethe, Hermann, b. Naumburg an der Saale (Germany), March 16, 1837, d. Baden (Lower Austria), May 12, 1911, agronomist. From 1886 lecturer at the University for Agricultural Sciences in Vienna; founded and headed a biological research institute for viniculture. Great scientific contributions in fighting the phylloxera and introducing the American vine to Austria.
