Goebel, Carl, b. Vienna, Feb. 26, 1824, d. Vienna, Feb. 10, 1899, painter and lithographer. Influenced by P. Fendi, J. Danhauser, J. M. Ranftl and J. Kriehuber. Study trips to Russia, Hungary, Spain, France and Italy, travelled to Africa in 1864. Famous paintings of vedutas and society portraits.
