Glanz, Joseph


Glanz, Joseph, b. Lviv, Ukraine (then Lemberg), Jan. 3, 1795, d. Vienna, Nov. 22, 1866, medal maker, engraver. One of the most renowned art casters of the Biedermeier epoch. Worked in Berlin from 1819-1831, summoned to Vienna in 1831, where he opened up a workshop for small-scale art castings (later turned into a bronze and iron casting factory).
