Glanz, JosephGlanz, Joseph, b. Lviv, Ukraine (then Lemberg), Jan. 3, 1795, d. Vienna, Nov. 22, 1866, medal maker, engraver. One of the most renowned art casters of the Biedermeier epoch. Worked in Berlin from 1819-1831, summoned to Vienna in 1831, where he opened up a workshop for small-scale art castings (later turned into a bronze and iron casting factory). Literature: ÖBL.
